As a student, it’s important to understand the potential occupations that you’ll be eligible for upon successfully finishing your qualification. With this qualification, you’ll have the opportunity to work in various roles such as:  
  • Teacher Aide in schools, preschools, or kindergartens.
  • Education Support staff.
  • Education Assistant specializing in additional needs, language/literacy, or cultural support.
  • School Age Care Assistant Educator, which includes roles in vacation care, outside school hours care (OSHC), or kindergarten.
  • Inclusion Support Aide.
  • SSO (School Support Officer).

Total number of units = 17

  • 13 core units
  • 4 elective units, consisting of:
  • at least 2 units from the list below
  • up to 2 units from the electives listed below, elsewhere in the CHC Community Services Training Package, or any other current Training Package or accredited course.

The selection of electives chosen must be guided by the job outcome sought, local sector requirements and the complexity of skills appropriate to the AQF level of this qualification.
