You may have the opportunity to work independently or under direct supervision as an instructor in this field.  
To support the assessor in making a decision about your skills, you need to provide a range of evidence. The types of evidence that may be requested include:
  • Job contract: A document outlining the terms and conditions of your employment.
  • Letter of employment/job engagement letter: A letter from your employer confirming your job role and responsibilities.
  • Workplace photograph: A photo showing you in your workplace, providing visual evidence of your employment.
  • Workplace videos: Videos that capture your work activities and demonstrate your skills.
  • Meeting minutes: Records of meetings where your performance and contributions were discussed.
  • Transcripts or evaluations from previous qualifications: Documents showing your academic achievements or assessments from previous courses or qualifications.
  • Apprenticeship papers: Documentation related to your apprenticeship, if applicable.
  • Daycare plans: Plans or documents related to your responsibilities in a daycare setting, if relevant.
  • Resume (including your latest job role): A summary of your work experience, including your most recent job.
  • ID (Medicare, Passport, Driving license, key pass, etc.): Identification documents that establish your identity.
  • Reference letter from employer/manager (including your job responsibilities): A letter from your employer or manager detailing your job responsibilities and skills.
  • Payslips/ABN certificates (if self-employed): Documents showing your income or business registration if you are self-employed.
  • OHS/WHS policies and procedures: Documents related to occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Case management notes: Notes documenting your involvement in specific cases or projects.
  • Nutrition charts and logs: Records or documentation related to nutrition planning or management.
  • Risk assessment and management of children: Documents or records demonstrating your ability to assess and manage risks for children.
  • First aid: Certificates or documentation showing your completion of first aid training.
  • Other supporting evidence: Any additional documents or materials that support your skills and qualifications.
As a student, it’s important to understand the potential careers available after completing a qualification successfully. Upon completing this qualification, you will be eligible for various roles, including:  
  • Family Day Care Educator
  • In Home Care Provider
  • Playgroup Supervisor
  • Nanny
  • Assistant Educator in long day care, child care centers, occasional care
  • Assistant Educator in a Kindergarten or preschool program
  • Assistant Educator in occasional care

Total number of units = 15

  • 12 core units
  • 3 elective units, consisting of:
  • 2 units from the electives listed below
  • up to 1 unit from the list below, elsewhere in the CHC Community Services Training Package, or any other current Training Package or accredited course.

The selection of electives chosen must be guided by the job outcome sought, local sector requirements and the complexity of skills appropriate to the AQF level of this qualification.
