The Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management is designed for individuals who are in managerial positions within various community sector organizations. These individuals work independently and are responsible for a range of tasks that involve applying the skills and knowledge necessary to guide the organization’s strategic direction, achieve goals, and report directly to executive management. At this level, workers plan and monitor service delivery, recruit other professionals, manage performance, mitigate risks, and contribute to continuous improvement within their specific roles. Other responsibilities may include program or project management, or overseeing broader community-based organizations such as non-profit youth education services or public venues.
To support your evaluator in making a decision about your qualifications, you should provide a range of evidence. The evidence you may be asked to provide can include:
  • Resume (including your most recent job position)
  • Identification documents (such as Medicare card, passport, driving license, key pass, etc.)
  • Reference letter from your employer/manager (which should outline your job responsibilities)
  • Payslips or ABN certificates (if you are self-employed)

It’s important for students to be aware of the career opportunities available to them once they successfully finish their qualification. Upon completing this qualification, you will be qualified for positions such as coordinator, center manager, program area manager, community development manager, community services manager, volunteer program manager, community care manager, and community education manager.
