You will need to provide various forms of evidence to support your assessor in making a decision about your skills. The types of evidence that may be requested include:
  • Letter of Employment or Job Engagement Letter: A document from your employer or the company you are engaged with, confirming your employment or engagement.
  • Workplace Photograph: A picture taken at your workplace as evidence of your presence and involvement.
  • Workplace Videos: Videos recorded at your workplace to showcase your work and activities.
  • Meeting Minutes: Official records of meetings where your participation or contributions are documented.
  • Apprenticeship Papers: Documents verifying your completion or enrollment in an apprenticeship program.
  • Resume (including your most recent job role): A detailed summary of your work experience, including your current or most recent job role.
  • Identification (e.g., Medicare card, Passport, Driving license, key Pass, etc.): Official identification documents to verify your identity.
  • Reference Letter from employer/manager: A letter from your employer or manager that includes information about your job responsibilities and performance.
  • Payslips / ABN Certificates (if self-employed): Documents such as payslips or Australian Business Number (ABN) certificates if you are self-employed.
  • Job Contract: A signed contract outlining the terms and conditions of your employment or engagement.
  • Safe work method statements: Documents describing the safe methods and procedures followed in your workplace.

As a student, it is important to be aware of the potential career options available upon successful completion of a qualification. Upon achieving this qualification, you will have the opportunity to work in the following roles:

Total number of units = 16

  • 7 core units
  • 9 elective units, consisting of:
  • at least 6 units from the electives listed below, at least 2 of these units must be coded HLTAHA
  • up to 3 units from any endorsed Training Package or accredited course – these units must be relevant to the work outcome

Any combination of electives that meets the rules above can be selected for the award of the Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance. Where appropriate, electives may be packaged to provide a qualification with a specialisation.

Packaging for each specialisation :

  • All Group A electives must be selected for award of the Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Physiotherapy)
  • All Group B electives must be selected for award of the Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Podiatry)
  • All Group C electives must be selected for award of the Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Occupational therapy)
  • All Group D electives must be selected for award of the Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Speech pathology)
  • All Group E electives must be selected for award of the Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Community rehabilitation)
  • All Group F electives must be selected for award of the Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Nutrition and dietetics)

Where 2 (or more) specialisations are completed, award of the qualification would read, for example, Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy)

All electives chosen must contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.
